Wedding Buzz of the Week: 201004 - "What it means to be authentic & genuine!" - 1.25.10

< Back

"Wedding Buzz of the Week" is a free weekly Wedding article from expert Brian Kelm, designed to educate, get your creative juices flowing, and inspire you to a picture-perfect Wedding full of success and life-long memories!

Every Monday in 2010, I will provide you with a different lesson covering an area of your Wedding that you may have never known or thought about before.

For the last week in January, I want to give you insights about what it means to be straight-forward, forthcoming & natural to people at all times no matter if it is with family, friends, or searching & working with professionals for your Wedding!

This is a big issue in any industry & society as well.  It goes back to simple elements of the human condition: behavior, attitude, and personality.  Every person on the planet must be content, satisfied with themselves, confident in who they are & what to to be truly authentic & genuine.  To this type of people, there is no "gray-area" everything is black or white.  Their actions speak for their lips & then some in the results that come from the integrity they hold true by the words & bond that they create.

Most of the time, these people show and involve others as opposed to offering lip service with no action or bite behind the bark.  Natural people don't have split personalities for different groups or types of people - they are the same no matter the situation.  They lay all the cards on the table at all times making interactions simple (no gray area) & potentially harmful because brutal honesty & upfront nature is rarely encountered by many.  They "tell it like it is"; to the point, straight-forward, and without all the fluff.  The beauty is they are focused on the actions that lead to the results and not manipulating you to believe something else when no work or effort has been offered.

In the Wedding industry, there are people who are straight-forward, confident, honest & authentic who share what they will do for you and then immediately take action making their work ethic and style speak for itself.  Whereas others, like to talk & tell people what they want to hear just to earn your business.  Manipulation techniques, giving you a false sense of identity or really caring about you & your day is clearly demonstrated one way or another down the road in your planning process.  Being a person of "less talking & more doing" creates lots of stories & pictures to share cause of the work being done & the results can be seen vs. treating you as a sale with a name, date & location.

Ask yourself, "Would you rather have a family member, friend or Wedding professional be honest, upfront & straight with you at all times or not....the truth is waiting?"
